■ Mungyeongsaejae Provincial Park
This area was the main road [Yeongnam-daero] of the Joseon Dynasty connecting Yeongnam to Hanyang, and historical sites such as the Wonteo, Gyogwijeong, Bongsujeong, Seongteo, and Daegwolteo remain.
As if attesting to the prosperity of Joryeong-ro, the rock-carved steles along the road record the achievements of officials such as provincial governors and county magistrates, while behind Juheulgwan, a group of steles—including steles of virtuous conduct, memorial steles, and eulogy steles—forms a cluster.
It is a tourist attraction where flora and fauna are preserved in their natural state, surrounded by the nearby Mt. Juheul, Mt. Joryeong, and Bubong, as well as in every valley.
■ Old Road Museum
What did people carry in their knapsacks while traveling in the past?
You can admire artifacts that are much smaller and more charming than you might imagine.
In addition, cultural heritage from Mungyeong is on display, including records left behind while traversing Mungyeongsaejae, famous as the path to the civil service examinations, as well as excavated costumes designated as National Folk Cultural Heritage.
As such, the Old Road Museum is a treasure trove that captures the various cultural aspects that unfolded along the old roads through its diverse artifacts.
■ Mungyeong Natural Ecology Museum
In modern society, where the natural environment has been damaged, Mungyeongsaejae is one of the places that still preserves its natural appearance.
The Natural Ecology Museum, which welcomes visitors at the entrance of Mungyeongsaejae Provincial Park,is equipped with a 3,643㎡ exhibition space on a 63,057㎡ site and exhibits research, conservation, and the ecological resources and natural environment of Mungyeong.
■ Mungyeong Ceramic Museum
The value of Mungyeong pottery is receiving even more attention today.
This is because, while the individual skills of the potters are outstanding, underlying those skills lies the historical and traditional character that defines Mungyeong pottery.
In particular, Mungyeong is home to Important Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 105, the "Sagijang" (Master Potter), designated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as well as three "Myeongjangs" (Master Craftsmen) in the pottery sector, the highest honor for skilled artisans designated by the Ministry of Labor.
With a high concentration of kiln sites for Buncheong ware and white porcelain from the early Joseon Dynasty, Mungyeong pottery still embodies the spirit of ancient potters and reflects the pure and unpretentious nature of the Korean people, resulting in natural and beautiful colors and forms.
■ Mungyeong Eco World
Located in Mungyeong, the center of eco-friendly green culture and featuring the core content of the Baekdudaegan ecological resources,
it is a cultural content theme park created as a recreational and cultural space with ecology, green energy, and environment themes that combine video and cultural content, designed to be enjoyed by people of all ages.
■ Ungang Lee Gang-nyeon Memorial Hall
The Ungang Memorial Hall is a place that commemorates the achievements of Ungang Yi Gang-nyeon, a commander of the Righteous Army who raised an army with a single-minded devotion to saving the nation during the Korean Empire era and achieved brilliant victories.
Opened in April 2002, the memorial hall sheds new light on the noble deeds of the Master and serves as a living educational site for history for future generations.
Furthermore, it is attracting attention from many people as one of the foundations that will lead 21st-century tourism in Mungyeong, linked with its beautiful natural landscapes.
■ Mungyeong Healing Resort
